We're new to the life of living with our new friend Bonzi Jerry a baby piggy that we got for the kids for Christmas. He looks healthy and is eating fine but not drinking much. Been feeding the regular food that came with the cage kit at PetCo and fresh carrots, green beans and 100% pure parsley flakes for his vitamin C but the water bottle seems to be hardly even touched.  He's also scratching and chewing on his body but I've searched him several times and see no flees or lice or even mites in the ears.  Any help / suggestions is appreciated.

So I suspected and was convinced I had an allergy to Ghillie my sweet beloved piggie but a few days ago I think I found the true culprit to my hives and itchy bumps...Timothy Hay. I feed him that with alfalfa grass in his cage and he, of course, plays and sleeps in it sometimes. I put some in his cage without bringing him out to play (I was in a hurry to meet up with my mom) and realized that I was itchy within half an hour....

 

Sooooo...

 

I still plan to feed him the two yummy things but instead I'll lessen th amount and give it to him on a towel...he wont sleep or play in it anymore unfortunately but I want to be able to have cuddle time with my baby :D

Hi my name is Holly i love animals i have two dogs and two guinea pigs in the past i have had like 4 dogs and about 13 guinea pigs and abotu 4 rabbits and about 20 fish and about 8 hamsters and 8 gerbils but pretty much most of the animals have died not but i still have some which is really good.

I just got my guinea pig about a week ago. She is an abyssinian with a light brown coat and for some odd reason she has red eyes. No one that I have introduced her to has liked her because they think she is evil because of them. I fell in love with her the moment we met and have been crazy about her ever since. She was calm when I got her but now she is nuts. She runs around her cage, jumping and squeeking. Once I catch her she comes and lays with me with the odd purr but usually just squeeks. And when I let her run around she goes crazy and it is hard to catch her, i think she just loves being free. Lately she has been trying to mount my boy rabbit. I don't understand it at all, he doesn't get mad at her, he just hops away but still its strange. He still likes her very much though, he cleans her off and they touch noses. But I am trying to figure out how to get her to stop. She is very much a one of a kind cavy.

There is no special day for them and yet they're some of the most important things in our lives! So why not make up a day to celebrate our guinea pigs together?????? It doesn't have to exist anywhere else in the world, but in the comfort of our own homes! These creatures are so important to us so why not celebrate the fact that God blessed us with them! There are so many special holidays dedicated to so many special things! But what about guinea pigs?????????? There is no special day for them and yet they're some of the most important things in our lives! So why not make up a day to celebrate our guinea pigs together?????? It doesn't have to exist anywhere else in the world, but in the comfort of our own homes! These creatures are so important to us so why not celebrate the fact that God blessed us with them! rosie is such a noisy lil thing. she is  cute. she squeaks evrytime i rustle a bag. it is so funny. and she is always out. she is very out-going and never shy. my dogs dont really like her but she is always at the tip of the cage sniffin them out. whenever i give her a treat in her food bowl she grabs it and rushes back to her cage but she purrs. it is like her way of saying thank you. i love it. she is very unique and no guinea pig is like her. haha. but all guinea pigs are special in their own way....love 'em mwuah

Hey! i love guinea pigs so much. i have one guinea pig right now and her name is cookie. my sister gave her the nickname cucleen. my sister also has a guinea pig whos name is rosie. they are both about 3 years old. i used to have a guinea pig named muffin. she died on new years eve. not the best time, huh? it was very sad but i still love cookie. i love when guinea pigs yawn and sneeze. they make the cutest little noises. its a shame because i cant post any pictures of my actual guinea pigs until my computer is fixed but i can give you details! cookie is black and white with one small brown spot on her back. i think it is very cute because cookie has a small white spot right on the top of her cute little butt. i love guinea pigs and i always will. god created them for a reason, and that is to be spoiled rotten!!!!!

buy a chew resistant hay rack i highly recommend them they are awesome. they reduse messes
